The effects and annual losses attributed to electrostatic discharge (ESD) are estimated to run into the billions of dollars just in the electronics industry alone. To control the static charge, FLEXCO combines conductive or dissipative vinyl tile with a specially formulated conductive adhesive. How the FLEXCO® esd Static Control System Works
Static electricity is conducted from the surface of the flooring through conductive elements distributed within the tile. FLEXCO®’s conductive adhesive creates an excellent electrical continuity to a ground point. Grounding can be accomplished by placing a copper strip in the wet adhesive (1" strip approx. every 2,000 sq. ft. or 1 strip per room), extending it beyond the perimeter and permanently connecting it to the ground point.

For extreme clean room applications, the logical choice in low outgassing ESD flooring, the FLEXCO Logic Tile formulation reduces the amount of emissions by more than 80% when compared to standard ESD flooring. Available in conductive and static dissipative solid vinyl tile, Logic Tile leads the industry in performance as tested according to ASTM E 595, with a total mass loss (TML) equal to 1.04% and a collected volatile condensable material (CVCM) equal to 0.46%. This makes Logic Tile the logical solution for clean room environments with the most stringent submicron – filtered atmospheres.
